Behind Flying Angel stands the Flying Angel Foundation, based in Rapperswil-Jona. Founded by Sven Düring, who brought the Porter to Switzerland.

The foundation fulfils heartfelt wishes and flies humanitarian missions. It pursues no profit — every resource serves the foundation’s purpose. The Pilatus PC-6 has always flown for the Red Cross and the United Nations as well; that quiet third dimension — helping where help is needed — is as much a part of her as the flights of the heart.

We decide in rounds, not on a rolling basis: we review all submissions at the end of each month, and replies go out early the following month. Every person receives a personal answer. We never simply write “declined” — we explain why we cannot fulfil a wish. We deliberately publish no fixed criteria; for now, the heart decides.
